  • Judge's Critique: Nice idea but the image falls short due to the lighting. The flowers in the foreground are vibrant, but the background is dark and soft (out of focus, most likely caused by depth of field created by the aperture). Also notice how the flowers on the lower left of the photograph are close to the edge. Working the light would help this shot. Of course this waterfall is in shadow, but opening it up may have been accomplished through use of a strobe or maybe HDR (High Dynamic Range either in camera or in post processing).
