  • DESCRIPTION AND SETTINGS : If you walk down the street, you see all sorts of deliveries being made. The pandemic has motivated most people to do virtual shopping. On my stroll looking for signs of the New Normal, this delivery truck had just pulled up to a house. I took several pictures of this and the first one just caught the driver exiting the truck with a package.
  • Judge's Critique: What makes this shot work is the driver looking at the photographer and mid step leaving the truck. Image is contrasty especially as it pertains to the bright parking area in from tot the truck. Our eyes always go to the brightest part of an image, so you would typically want the bright area to be the subject.
This shot and title is not inherently expressing “New Normal”. Also notice the driver is not wearing a mask. The postal service has been concerned about FedEx and UPS taking their jobs for years, so the Goodbye Mail title doesn’t carry the meaning of COVID 19’s new normal. Compare your shot to Comcast trucks that have a sign stating to maintain social distancing of 10’ and drivers are required to wear a mask.
