  • DESCRIPTION AND SETTINGS : I wanted to renew my sense of how the virus has affected everything, so I took my camera , Canon 7D, and just went for a walk down the street. I know several students graduating from college this spring and they have all, in some way been affected by the economic changes and social distancing. This sign stood out in its starkness and message. I processed it in Adobe Camera Raw and then cropped and tilted it in Photoshop to represent the tilted world these people are entering.
  • Judge's Critique: Based on your title and description, it seems you put some thought into this photograph. It is an average photograph, but the choice of black and white (monochrome) and tilting the image brings it up a little. It is after all a photo of a sign. A sign like this would have more impact, and that is what we are after, if it was shot next to a closed school or an empty auditorium.
