This image was taken on a morning walk just at sunrise. I liked the leading line that the trunk's shadow was casting. the tree was back lit so I use LRc adjustments to bring out some color in the foliage and ground cover. I liked the fact that this tree was all by itself in a large mostly vacant park. It gives the feeling of solitude. I find the warm golden hour colors inviting. It reminds me of Joyce Kilmer poem "Trees."
"Trees" (1913)
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree
