DESCRIPTION AND SETTINGS :
My mother and one of my best friends went to the balloon store in Kazanlak, Bulgaria to pick up balloons for my friend's father's 70th birthday. We had to walk across the whole town with the balloons. We stopped at a street corner to wait to cross the street. That's where I took this photo.
Judge's Critique:
Nice travel photograph. Inclusion of foreign letters on signs in background adds to the concept. Extreme contrast situation subtracts from a more balanced light. Balloons overexposed, could be fixed. Bottom part of the street, the same. Expression of lady on the right is nice, happy. Do not like the fact that the other lady looks away from the camera. This somehow makes her a distracting element rather than a positive inclusion. I would like the image more having only the smiling lady, or alternatively both looking at the camera.
