- Judge's Critique: Blue Eyes: Snakes are always a fascinating subject. I perceive this as a "look at what I saw" photograph. Look at the bright elements that rise vertically, cutting the frame and the foreground. Also, look at the green element rising out of the snake's head. I understand that the snake is in a challenging location, but this does not rise to a competitive image level. Also, the "blue" eyes and dull skin tell me the snake is ready to shed. The eyes will be clear and bright once it sheds.
