Presented by Robert Chaplin, Fine Art Nature Photographer, Instructor and a Kendall Camera Club Judge, this six hour workshop will help you get started, learn and improve your Black & White photography techniques.

Outline:
  • Why Black and White as considered fine art? (Discussion)
  • When should you consider Black and White? (Discussion)
  • Black and White and the histogram (Discussion)
  • The Image. (Photoshop Hands on Practice)
  • When is Black and White not Black and White? (Discusion/Hands on)
  • How to Accentuate the Black and White with Selective Color. (Discussion/Hands on)
  • Actions - How to speed up the process. (Demonstration and Free Actions to Students)
  • Print Media and the "Feel"of the Image. (Discussion)

Education materials included: CD with Lesson, B&W Actions, Duo Tones, Tri-tones and Quad-Tones.

Requirements: 
  • Participants need to bring a laptop for the class exercises
  • A mouse is preferable over the laptop touch pad
  • Photoshop CS5 or higher
  • Exercise files will be available for download prior to the workshop date.

** Coffee, water and snacks at 9:30 - Class starts at 10:00am with a 45 minutes break for lunch.**
