 This fully focused King Vulture just kept staring at me the whole time I was taking its picture, which was great. I had to do a "smell check" a few times to make sure I didn't smell like delicious roadkill.

I took this image in my yard. This dragonfly was resting on the leaf of a coontie plant. I thought the semitransparent wings were amazing. It was difficult to get a shot of the dragonfly because it was moving constantly from place to place on the plant. I shot about 50 images. Most of them came out blurred because of the constant movement.

 This is a butterfly from one of the butterfly gardens in the area. It has a wide variety of bright colors and was standing on a leaf. This was photographed with a Canon PowerShot G15 at close range on auto and used a SmartPhoto for the frame and enhanced colors.

 This photo was shot at the Miami Zoo with a Nikon D5600 at 285 zoom on auto. The sun hitting at an angle intensified the plumage texture and both red eyes were looking my way so I shot it before he/she moved again. The grain was removed with Topaz DeNoise AI as much as possible and there was some other enhancements to bring out the beauty of the pelican.

 This was shot at a beach in the Keys. I caught the drone as it was just taking off. I questioned if the blades on a drone would satisfy the Winged Thing theme so I looked up the definition of wing. I found three definitions that support my contention that drones have wings. Each blade is a wing. 1. "A wind is a type of fin that produces lift while moving." 2. "Part of an aircraft that produces the lift for rising into the air." 3. "Limb or instrument of flight: means of flight or of rapid motion." I think I should be safe entering this image. I liked the contrast between the deep blue sky and the blazing white color of the drone.
