I guess I’m labeled as a ’sports’ photographer’ but outside of football, all of my ’sports’ involve fishing and some incidental wildlife.
I grew up in the New York-New Jersey area, fishing for most anything I could find. It seems I was always taking photos but I began showing a bit of talent at Notre Dame shooting football. I have always been an avid fisherman, especially fly fishing, and have held over two dozen IGFA world records.
I am also an avid diver and have added underwater photography to my repertoire, which presents its own set of challenges. My major goal in my wildlife photography is not to get eaten by my ‘models' which include bears and sharks.
My presentation will give some pointers on how to shoot in exotic locations and settings that are unpredictable, out of your control, and usually difficult at best.
I shoot with top-of-the-line Canon equipment and use a Nauticam housing for my underwater photography. All my photos are shot in raw format and can be printed in any size imaginable.
I recently purchased the Canon R5 camera so I’ll be sharing some of my shots with that system, which is pretty impressive.
