- DESCRIPTION AND SETTINGS : This shot was a setup using fruit and vegetables I found in our refrigerator. I played around with various designs and placements of the fruit. I shot a total of about 130 takes trying to find a pleasing composition.
- Judge's Critique: This still life is well composed with the shadows and the decision for the background and frame border is an artistic decision so I will not comment on them. The only observation is on the shadows. Are the shadows necessary for the artistic statement of this still life? If the shadows were not there, the image would not be centered. It seems a centered image would be appropriate for this shot because the grapes and broccoli create an out of balance feel (this is a good think) of the image.
