Judge's Critique:
Leading my way: This image meets the challenge with diagonal lines. The strong diagonal lines of the shadow on the ground and the perceived diagonal line of the columns lead the viewer to the end of the pergola covered walkway. Good use of lines, but the lines don’t lead to a subject or anything that could capture the viewer’s interest. Placing something out of focus in the foreground is risky. It can be done but it needs to be done in a way that contributes to the photograph. The branches in the foreground are distracting and do not help the photograph.
