DESCRIPTION AND SETTINGS :
I picked up this oil, vinegar and sugar decorated clay bottles on my last trip to Bulgaria. The design is traditional to the country. I wanted to replicate the classic "low key" paintings of fruits and vegetables.
Shot on Nikon D7500, 50mm f/1.4 lens set at ISO 400, f/4 and 1/50 sec. Single, continuous LED light used. - Judge's Critique: This is a low-key image. Look at the keepsakes and you will notice there are some areas of blown out highlights. These highlights may have been handled using a different type of lighting and/or exposure. The challenge was achieved, but while this may be an interesting still life image that has meaning for the photographer, it does not rise to the level of fine photography for competition.
