This photograph was taken in The Dolomites, Italy, at the Cadini Group Mountain range.
Cadini di Misurina is an awe-inspiring mountain group of the Sexten Dolomites in the Italian Dolomites, Northern Italy.
Defined by sharp, slender spires and pinnacles, the jagged Cadini di Misurina mountains look like the imagined backdrop of a high fantasy epic. It was taken at the early morning hours with a great amount of fog surrounding them, on September 26, 2024

This was shot at the shopping center called Sunset Place in South Miami. This is the spiral staircase in this complex. I shot both from the top of the stairs looking down and from the bottom looking up. Sunset Place is a rather eerie place these days. There are very few stores that are occupied. This shopping center is scheduled for demolition and replacement by a new complex. I have visited here several times to shoot. I find many interesting things to shoot each time I visit.

The Kendall Camera Club is honored to invite all its members and guests for an exciting night of enjoyment and learning from Fujifilm's Ambassador Photographer Chris Upton.

The most commonly asked question I get is, “how do you see a picture”? Whilst you might automatically think we’re talking about composition, actually, there is much more to it than that. In this talk, I explain my 7 step plan to achieve better images. Packed with hints and tips it will help take your photography to the next level.

About

Chris Upton is a professional photographer, based in Nottinghamshire (UK), specializing in Travel, Landscape, and Social Documentary photography.

He is an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society and is proud to be a brand ambassador for Fujifilm.

Chris has received awards in national photographic competitions and has twice been commissioned to photograph in Thailand on behalf of the Tourism Authority of Thailand. His images are represented by several international stock agencies and clients have used them worldwide across many different sectors.

He has also exhibited many times both in a solo capacity and also as part of the Masters of Vision collective. In 2016 Chris presented a major social documentary project recording the final year of Thoresby Colliery, the last pit in Nottinghamshire, to widespread critical acclaim.

Chris’s ability to connect and communicate, passing on his learning’s, means that he is in great demand as a speaker and as a tutor on his workshops and tours in the UK and abroad.

“Two of my great passions in life are travel and photography. I have been fortunate to travel widely and it is an amazing experience to observe and photograph a variety of cultures, people, and landscapes. I hope that through my photographs I can bring a little of this to the viewer and inspire others to enjoy the beauty and diversity of the world for themselves”.
