Today’s Photo Of The Day is “Brown-Hooded Kingfisher in the Rain” by Robert Henderson. Location: Selous Game Reserve, Tanzania.

“Normally, the ‘small rains’ in Tanzania start in November,” explains Henderson. “The rains fall mostly as afternoon showers with lots of sun in the morning and later on towards evening. But November 2019 was unusually wet. We were fortunate to find this brown-hooded kingfisher drying off during a brief sun-break. He was perched on a low branch and not at all concerned by my presence. I had all the time I wanted to compose the image.”
