Location: Monterey Bay, California. “This whale had breached numerous times, so I went below deck to shoot from a porthole close to the waterline to get the perspective of looking up at the whale,” explains Croft. “When he came up this time, I started firing and was quite annoyed that the boat had ruined the shots, but then I looked at the back of the camera and saw how cool it was.
