This excellent video essay features a seasoned photographer talking through his thought process in creating such a photo. [ Read More ]Original link(Originally posted by Alex Cooke)

I love encouraging people to consider customizing their Raw Default for Lightroom Classic (LrC) and Camera Raw because it allows you to start post-processing right from the moment you import without having to configure anything specific to that import job. You can get super specific and detailed in your Raw Default if that suits your needs, but an easy way to test drive the feature is to configure it to Camera Settings. When you choose Camera Settings it uses all the same settings as the Adobe Default, so no huge changes in your settings if you’ve never configured anything before. The one distinction with this setting is that LrC attempts to discern the in-camera picture style you choose when shooting and...

If the title intrigued you, I'd bet that you feel slightly insecure about raising your creative fees. It's my belief that somewhere along the way, someone said artists shouldn't get paid, and we foolishly chose to believe it. Then, we further damaged each other by spreading that lie. This is the purpose of this entire video. [ Read More ]Original link(Originally posted by Walid Azami)

So, what are the best settings for wildlife photography? Most people would argue that aperture priority would be the best way to tackle shooting fast action like wildlife and sports. There is nothing quite like the change of seasons from summer to fall. The days become shorter, the nights grow longer, and there’s a nip in the air. It’s the start of a special time for photographers—the arrival of autumn colors. Cooler temperatures and shifts in atmospheric conditions are what prompt foliage to present brilliant hues of red, orange and yellow across the landscape. The flood of vivid colors is an opportunity for bold photographs—but can also be an overwhelming and challenging subject. Let’s consider some creative ways to bring out the best in your fall photography, as well as some of my favorite locations to try these techniques. Letchworth State Park, upstate New York. A quality 35mm lens with a reasonably wide maximum aperture is useful for a huge range of applications in both photo and video, but on the other hand, such lenses can often be rather expensive. This great video review takes a look at its image quality and performance. [ Read More ]Original link(Originally posted by Alex Cooke)
