They say that even though sharing requires trust and faith and a willingness to take risks as one reaches out to others, the connection one derives from sharing makes it all worth it. Bearing all that in mind, “they” are likely not considering the value of intellectual property. If you’re a photographer, share…but watermark as you go. Nikon today introduced the NIKKOR Z 28-75mm f/2.8, a new standard zoom for its full-frame mirrorless Z cameras. The company also announced development of the NIKKOR Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S. NIKKOR Z 28-75mm f/2.8 The new zoom is an alternative to two existing zooms in the Nikon Z system—the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S and the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S—with a few key differentiations. From a size and weight perspective, the new NIKKOR Z 28-75mm f/2.8 falls between the two current lenses. Photography has become so popular, a cookie-cutter look appears in the vast majority of published images. Ponder this scenario—50 photographers line up along one of the pullouts in the Lamar Valley in Yellowstone in the fall. There stands a majestic bull elk in good light grazing on the golden grasses. Each one of the 50 photographers has a 500mm or 600mm lens attached to their camera body, and this setup is attached to a fully extended tripod set to eye level. Simultaneous clicks are heard each time the elk raises its head from the grass. The end result? Fifty extremely similar photos because no one sought out unique vantage points in photography.
