The post Weekly Photography Challenge – Fire appeared first on Digital Photography School. It was authored by Sime. Well, it seems ‘portraits’, last week’s theme was a bit too scary for many of you, though we thank those of you that had a crack at it! Well done. (I’ll share my favourite at the end of this post) This week something less, and more confronting – FIRE – it can be any aspect of fire, like flames or burnt wood/after a fire that sort of thing – the viewer has to easily associate your image with ‘Fire’ (be safe!) Use the tag #dPSFire #dPSWeeklyChallenge in your posts on social media, or share your photo in the comments below. Your photo has...Weekly Photography Challenge - Fire

The post The Nikon Z30 May Be Announced Later This Month appeared first on Digital Photography School. It was authored by Jaymes Dempsey. The Z30, Nikon’s long-rumored, entry-level APS-C mirrorless camera, may be about to launch. This comes from Nikon Rumors, which notes that “the new Nikon Z30…is rumored to be announced soon, possibly in June.” Nikon has offered no confirmation of the Z30 announcement, but an upcoming summer release seems plausible, especially as Nikon seeks to draw attention away from Canon’s own APS-C announcements. The Z30 would likely sit below the Z50 in the Nikon lineup, which is aimed at hobbyists and boasts a 20.9 MP sensor, 11 frames-per-second continuous shooting capabilities, and 4K/30p recording. But as NR points out,...

I don’t organize by date for three main reasons: I actually used to organize by date when I first started using Lightroom, but organizing by date requires you to remember, to some extent, when you shot all your photos. I have 15+ years of photos in Lightroom — I can’t remember whether I went to Spain in 2011 or 2012. I can’t remember if it was April, or May or June. It relies too much on my memory, and I spent a lot of time searching through folders and finding out I was searching in the wrong one. When I organize by name, finding my photos is so simple. When I want to find my trip to Spain, I go under Travel,...

Because we can't control the light or conditions in landscape photography, it is quite important to plan ahead to ensure that the time of day and weather will be right for the photos you want to create. This great video discusses why being overly rigid can be detrimental to your work. [ Read More ]Original link(Originally posted by Alex Cooke)

Photographers are creators. As creatives, we have something to say. Photography, as a medium, can capture a mood or a message as powerfully as words, music, paintings, and sculptures.
