Photo By Harry Lichtman Today’s Photo of the Day is “Renewal” by Harry Lichtman. Location: Torres del Paine National Park. “One of my favorite images from Patagonia, relying on side lighting to create layers of texture and depth between the emerging undergrowth, skeletal beech trees and the looming horns rising through the clouds,” describes Lichtman. “When sunrise didn’t materialize as I had hoped, I waited out the storm clouds until the Los Cuernos came into view. Dramatic lighting for a dramatic subject.” Want to get your images in the running for a Photo of the Day feature? The post Tamron Announces First Z-Mount Lens for Nikon, the 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3 appeared first on Digital Photography School. It was authored by Jaymes Dempsey. August was a big month for Tamron. First, the company unveiled the innovative 20-40mm f/2.8 Di III VXD; then, following a July development announcement, Tamron launched the 50-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD. Both of the above models – like most of Tamron’s recent third-party lenses – are designed for Sony E-mount cameras. Yet Tamron had one more surprise in store: a final August announcement that hints at a new direction for the company and should excite Canon and Nikon mirrorless users alike. Earlier this week, Tamron unveiled a third lens, the 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III RXD...

For years, photographers have understood that creating the best photograph possible means shooting in the best possible light. For natural light shooters, the best light often comes at a time known as the golden hour. This occurs when the sun is setting and the angle of the sun to the earth causes the light to travel through clouds and air pollution creating soft, diffused light. The color of this light is warm and the look is beautiful on all skin tones. [ Read More ]Original link(Originally posted by John Ricard)

Since I picked up my first camera about 15 years ago, I’ve loved wildlife photography. While you can capture beautiful wildlife images with a wide range of lenses, nothing beats a telephoto lens for getting close-up shots of your subject. With a long lens, you can photograph wildlife from a safe distance without disturbing them. The drawbacks of most telephoto lenses is that they’re large, heavy and expensive. However, since Canon launched its EOS R mirrorless camera system in 2018, it has developed impressively compact and lightweight RF lenses of all types, including telephoto options.
