Photo By Beth Young Today’s Photo Of The Day is “El Dorado National Forest, Wildfire Devastation” by Beth Young. Location: Kirkwood, California. “As the sun was setting and casting interesting shadows on these wildfire-devastated trees in the El Dorado National Forest yesterday, I experienced a profound respect for the life and death they endured,” says Young. “As a photographer who prioritizes capturing uplifting, hopeful images, it’s really difficult for me to photograph images with any semblance of decay or destruction, but I was inspired to attempt it nonetheless. The Wildlife Photography Conference kicks off Tomorrow …but it’s not too late to join us. In fact, even...🙂

The point from where a photo is created, determined by a high or low shooting angle, is instrumental to determine the success of the photograph. Regardless of subject matter, point of view is critical. The subject matter of this week’s tip is how to get good pattern, shape and form shots, so let’s explore how point of view can be strategically used to make great ones. Most images are made from an upright position, so a low vantage point often grabs a viewer’s attention. A high vantage point allows the photographer to shoot down on a subject and...
