We are excited to announce the September Field trip. We will be heading to the Everglades National Park on Wednesday, September 28th to photograph the fourth and  last in a tetrad, a series of four consecutive total lunar eclipses in 2014-2015. The term Blood Moon, has recently become popular when referring to the total lunar eclipses in the 2014 – 2015 lunar tetrad. The eclipse will last for 3 hrs and 20 mins from beginning to end. The Moon will be totally eclipsed (totality) for about 1 hr and 12 mins.

Robert Chaplin will be leading the field trip teaching different techniques on how to photograph the eclipse.  Listed below are the times for the different phases of the eclipse.

We will be meeting at the:

Ernest Coe Visitor Center
40001 State Road 9336, Homestead, FL 33034

At the entrance, we will be discussing the location where we will be going to photograph the lunar eclipse.

Here are some suggestions for items to bring:

Please keep in mind that the entrance to Everglades National Park is $10 per vehicle  which is not included as part of this field trip.

We look  forward to seeing you there!
