John McKnight | June 12, 2025This is one of my favorite images of this group. It is great that you saw this and made the effort to stop and capture it. The B & W works well with your image. Nicely done. Where is this building?Architectural Spotlight Architectural SpotlightArchitectural Spotlight
This building has an opening that allows the natural light to reflect on the side wall. I notice it when it while driving in Miami and stopped to take several photos. The image was cropped and changed to B&W to emphasize the curves using Photoshop.

Captured with a Fujifilm camera and a Lensbaby Sweet 35 at 1/60 sec, ISO 800, around f/4–5.6.
These two calla lilies felt like they were leaning in for a quiet chat. The soft curves, rich colors, and gentle swirl in the background texture made the moment feel almost like a little floral dance.Processed with On1 and Nik Software

John McKnight | June 12, 2025This is one of my favorites. You definitely nailed the curves theme. I like the tight crop. The black background really works well. Walter Rojter | June 13, 2025John, this is a nice and creative image, very well done.Fun Footwear Fun FootwearFun Footwear
These "Native" brand rubber shoes belong to one of my identical twin grandsons. I was looking for something with curves to shoot for this photo challenge, and these caught my eye as something with lots of curves. Perchance the shoes were sitting on top of this wicker covered chest when I first saw them. So I thought the wicker circles on the chest would make a complimentary background for the shoes since circles are also curves of sort. I also thought the tan wicker color complemented the yellow shoe color nicely. I tried various setups with the shoes. I shot about 20 images with different arrangements, and this setup was the most pleasing to my eye. There is nice soft window light coming in from the left. I did some color adjustment with Lightroom Classic and included a medium vignette to make the shoes pop a little more. I came up with 15 potential names for this image and settled on Fun Footwear. I like the alliteration in the title.

Edge of Bloom Edge of BloomEdge of Bloom
Shot with my Fujifilm XH2s and a Lensbaby Sweet 50 with a +4 macro adapter — ISO 400, 1/200 sec at f/2.8.
I wanted a tight, swirly composition that really pulled the eye in, and this carnation delivered. Those magenta-edged petals curl in every direction, and at f/2.8, the background just melts into this soft spiral. As always, edited with On1 and Nik software.

Walter Rojter | June 13, 2025Nice closeup and composition, I think it would be even better with brightness kept at the center and darkening the bottom third, to match the top.Serene Green Serene GreenSerene Green
This image was shot a few weeks ago in California. I like the symmetry of the petals. I am not sure of the name of this plant, but I would like to know if you know. I liked that the petals are front lit and also back lit at the same time. The lighting seems of give the petals depth. I also enjoyed what looks like rim light on the upper petals. I wanted to center the plant laterally, but I dropped the center below the horizontal center to include all of the uppermost pedal. I think that petal has the most impact. I used Lightroom Classic to tweak the colors and crop the image. I did some spot removal using PS. I know we have had similar images in the past, but I thought this specimen was worthy of entry because it is all curves. I see no straight lines anywhere.

I took this photo in December, 2022 during a visit to Athens, Greece. This large metal structure was built for the Olympic village used by the athletes who attended the 2004 summer Olympics. I took this photo around 8 pm when there aren't that many people walking around. I was lucky that a security vehicle was starting its drive on the road under the structure, which added interest to the scene. For this photo, I set the camera on a stone seat, on a table-top sized tripod, then used a shutter release to capture the image.

This is a photo of the front entrance of the Holy Church of Saint Andrew in the city of Patras, Greece. According to legend, this church was built on top of an original church that was built on the site where the Apostle Saint Andrew was crucified. Inside the church, there is an altar where a piece of the skull of the saint is displayed, and on one of the naves of the church, there is a display with a piece of the cross that was used to crucify him. This photo was taken last December, mid-morning. For the circular effect, I used a special filter attached to the camera lens.
