I could use a few volunteers for shooting a Parks and Recreation event this Saturday, May 6th at Evelyn Greer Park between 10am and 2pm.  Please email me if you plan to volunteer.  This is Fit Kids Day, so there will be a lot of opportunities to capture endearing children doing fitness events. Print your own gorgeous Clicktique entries with Epson Stylus Photo R3000 Printer

Stop Thinking Like A Film Photographer

Bruce just finished an article on advanced camera exposure modes (like aperture priority) and the differences between film and digital cameras after discussing the three camera controls affecting exposure and their artistic side effects. He gives his opinion on how much control you can afford to give the camera and the consequences of giving away control. He was motivated to write this article over a year ago when digital cameras were missing what he considered the most important of the semi-manual modes. The article should provide an interesting perspective even for experienced photographers (or your money back). The article is on our website, which he is trying to redecorate, so this link is actually to our blog, where you can leave...

With all the books published in the Emerging Civil War Series, the photographs are taken by the authors or editor (who are all members of the Emerging Civil War blog) and need to be of a particular resolution so the picture is distinguishable when published in black and white. With well-over 100 photographs, both historic and modern, in each book, this...

Nikon announces D4 flagship DSLR, 85mm f/1.8 portrait lens

The new Nikon D4 is aimed squarely at professional photographers—especially sports and action shooters, and no wonder: Nikon is the official pro imaging sponsor of this year's Olympics, which will take place in London. With the D4, Nikon should be highly visible in a land hertofore dominated by cameras that took off-white lenses.
