The Inupiat Eskimo village of Kaktovik Alaska lies 90 miles west of Canada on the northern edge of the 20 million acre Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Learn about the culture of Kaktovik and join us as Robert shares his experiences and challenges with photographing polar bears on the edge of the Arctic Ocean. He will discuss equipment, shooting from a vehicle and a boat, and give us a chance to score and critique some of his photographs (he has done it to us, now let’s do it to him).

Known as an Everglades photographer, Robert Chaplin is the co-author of the one-of-a-kind photography guide book; Everglades National Park – A Photographic Destination, one of the founding directors of the South Florida National Parks Camera Club, fine art photographer, and photography workshop instructor. Robert frequently travels to Alaska and is going to share his most recent trip to photograph polar bears in Kaktovik Alaska.
